Ferberite is a black, dense iron tungstate mineral (FeWO4) and the iron-rich endmember of the wolframite group, making it a primary ore of tungsten. Tungsten plays a vital role in the production of metal alloys, filament wire for lighting, ballistics, aerospace components, and more. This particular sample is very clean with well-developed crystals sourced from the Boulder County, Colorado area (specific locality not known). Weight: 273 g. Dimensions: 7x6x4 cm.
