Uranium Ore with Uraninite/Carnotite/Pascoite/Gypsum

San Miguel County, Colorado (USA)

This sample of Colorado Plateau uranium ore features uraninite within the sandstone matrix and displays surface coatings of carnotite (yellow), pascoite (orange), and gypsum (white). This specimen measures 4 x 3 x 3 cm and weighs 38.5 g (50,000 cpm / 8 uSv/hr). 


Stabilization was achieved using Paraloid B-72.
